Relationships can be challenging!

  • Are you feeling distant and disconnected from your partner?

  • Having negative feelings about your relationship?

  • Finding yourselves considering separation or divorce?

  • Having less and less intimacy?

Perhaps you avoid each other just so you don’t argue.  Feelings of apprehension and loneliness become part of your daily routine.  You sit across from each other at dinner like strangers or have all together given up shared meal times.  You miss the relationship as it once was in the beginning.

Or maybe you argue all the time.  Yelling and swearing at each other has become the norm.  The two of you struggle to feel understood and heard and it has gotten so frustrating and irritating!

Sometimes, the hurt goes even deeper.  You could be dealing with an affair or a betrayal.  You’re not sure how to repair or move forward from a deep wound like infidelity.

Relationships have their ups and downs.  Sometimes more downs than ups.  Those can be hard to cope with and sometimes solutions seem impossible.  You’ve tried different things but nothing seems to work.  Or perhaps it seems that results don’t appear to last for too long.

What can Couples Therapy do for you?

From time to time all relationships deal with some type of conflict.  Some issues that arise can come and go quickly while others take time to resolve and yet there are some problems that are perpetual and ongoing.

Couples therapy can help you gain a clearer understanding of the circular relational patterns that happen between you and your partner.  You may gain insight to ways you and your partner contribute to positive and negative interactions.  In therapy, you are encouraged to explore different approaches to work through difficult issues together while at the same time feeling supported.  Therapy can help you and your partner in identifying and learning techniques to alleviate conflict in your relationship. Through counseling, you can make thoughtful decisions about working through your problems as a couple and feeling less like you’re working against each other.

Our therapists are licensed marriage and family therapists or licensed marriage and family therapist associates.  They are trained to understand the workings of interpersonal relationships and have experience working with couples from diverse backgrounds. And as each couple is unique so are our therapists. While each LMFT/LMFT-Associate goes through the rigorous academic and internship trainings, each has their own set of modalities and topics of interest.  Furthermore, we do have bilingual therapists on staff.  You can explore and learn more about each therapist by clicking here.
